Mike Zapata
Digital Accessibility Specialist, Citi
Mike Zapata is a Digital Accessibility Specialist with Citi. Prior to working for Citi, he was an Accessibility Coordinator/Specialist with the State of Texas for over seven years where he coached agency staff and partners on producing WCAG-compliant electronic resources. In the decade previous to that, Mike was a webmaster for the U.S. Department of Labor's Job Corps program where he educated staff about Section 508 requirements. He is an alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin and is certified as an Accessible Document Specialist and a Certified Professional in Web Accessibility by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.
Mike lives in Austin with his wife Patricia and their chihuahua Lady Gaga. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, woodworking projects, and writing about himself in third-person. He also hopes that something good happens to you today.
