Sarah Horton

Sarah Horton has more than 20 years experience in interaction design and development, starting in late 1980s with interactive CD-ROMs. She has worked primarily in higher education, working at Yale University and more recently at Dartmouth College. Currently she is a consultant for strategic planning and project management for websites and web applications, as well as accessibility audits and usability reviews.

Sarah is an internationally renowned expert in the areas of usability and design. She has over 50 publications to her name, including three books, one book chapter, and many professional, magazine, and news articles, including an article on web accessibility for the New York Times. She has given over 40 presentations and workshops, including several keynotes. She has received 11 awards for her work, including Best Book in Computer Science from the American Association of Publishers. And she regularly serves on program committees and working groups.

Sarah is currently writing Universal Design for Web Accessibility, with co-author Whitney Quesenbery, to be published in 2012 by Rosenfeld Media.
