Nancy Frishberg

Nancy Frishberg is a User Experience Strategist with more than 20 years in the high tech industry. She holds a Ph.D in linguistics from UCSD, where her language of specialty was American Sign Language. Her dissertation work demonstrated that signs follow linguistic principles as they change over time with use. Her 1986 book, "Interpreting: An Introduction," which is still in print, is the primary text in many interpreter training programs, and serves as the basis for the written examination (first step) for certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
Nancy Frishberg is also a Trained Facilitator for Innovation GamesĀ®. She has used the Games to help clients understand their users' and customers' attitudes and preferences about products and services, digital as well as physical.
