Knowbility Launches Partner Program with cPubs and Perceptive Sciences Corporation

Austin, TEXAS – SEPTEMBER 28, 2005 – Knowbility, Inc., the nation’s leader in hands-on training on information technology (IT) accessibility, today announced two new strategic partnerships with cPubs – a leading developer of computer product documentation and training – and Perceptive Sciences Corporation – one of the top usability testing and research firms.

"The partner program provides a way for Knowbility to build strategic alliances with industry product and services providers in complementary fields," said William H. Cahill, chairman of the Knowbility board of directors. "We are pleased to extend Knowbility‘s reach, providing expert information and skills in technology accessibility, by working with such outstanding organizations as Perceptive Sciences and cPubs."

The concept of IT accessibility means that software and web sites must be designed in a manner to enable people with disabilities to use the technologies, often with the aid of assistive tools. For example, by designing a web site according to IT accessibility guidelines, a blind person can install software called a “screen reader,” using it to “speak” the content of web pages to them.

"We’re delighted to join Knowbility in this strategic partnership," said Jane Scott, CEO of cPubs. "As developers of the documentation and training that ships with software and other computer products, we want to make a difference for people with disabilities by building accessibility into our online user guides, online help, web-based tutorials, and other online support information. Partnering with Knowbility is a big step toward reaching our accessibility goals, helping us to communicate the issues to our technology company clients and to deliver the best solutions for their customers."

"Accessibility is key to creating a world-class website and incorporating Knowbility’s expertise into our user interface design work will allow Perceptive Sciences to deliver an intuitive and enjoyable customer experience that works for everyone," said Jamie Rhodes, CEO of Perceptive Sciences. "When we design websites, we tell our clients it costs them nothing additional to design with accessibility in mind. Yet, it opens the website to use by a huge and important segment of the community that might otherwise be left out."
