Information for Companies
The John Slatin Accessibility Fund Project is an independent volunteer collaborative effort of many individual and business accessibility experts who are generously donating time. Knowbility has volunteered hosting and management services but does not own the project.
Thank you for your interest.
The John Slatin Accessibility Fund Project will provide web site owners with highly useful information about the accessibility of their web site. Reviews are performed by experienced accessibility experts who are donating their time to benefit the family of Dr. John Slatin who recently passed away after a long illness. Site owners can expect to learn whether users with different disabilities might encounter barriers on their site, and how any barriers identified impact the user’s ability to have a successful experience. This review is intended to provide a short overview of the accessibility of the site, and is not a comprehensive accessibility audit.
A comprehensive accessibility audit is beneficial for any web site owner. Such a review can provide a detailed listing of all known accessibility issues on a site and specific guidance for repair, but is often a lengthy process and is more work than is possible by the accessibility experts volunteering their time for this project.
Companies interested in participating in John Slatin Fund Accessibility Project and obtaining an brief accessibility review are asked to contribute a minimum of US $500 to John's Family through The John Slatin Fund. You may of course, be as generous as you wish and donate larger sums if you are able to do so.
Funds donated are to benefit John’s family to help offset medical expenses incurred during his long illness. Contributions to The John Slatin Fund go directly to his family and are not tax deductible. Consult with your tax advisor for other tax-related questions.
Process
- Sign up for a review. You will be paired with an accessibility expert.
- Wait to hear from us! Do not submit your contribution until you hear from us that you have been successfully matched with an accessibility expert. A limited number of consultants have joined the effort and we want to be sure we have someone available to do your review.
- Once you receive notification that a consultant is available, contribute a minimum of $500 ($US) (or more!) to The John Slatin Fund via PayPal or by sending a check.
