Developer Training

Training will provided for Basic Accessibility and Advanced Accessibility.
Class Descriptions
- Basic Accessibility - Introduction to access issues in the design of web sites. Includes and overview of industry accepted guidelines and standards, hands-on experience with screen reading software, and information about why good design is accessible design. We will also briefly cover the AIR-Houston judging form. This course has been updated to include information from WCAG 2.0
- Advanced Accessibility - Learn how to make JavaScript and multimedia applications accessible. This class will cover CSS, JavaScript techniques, Macromedia Flash, video and audio captioning, and audio descriptioning.
Non-profit Organization Training
We are in the process of confirming dates and locations for the 2010 training. Please check back for more details.
Class Descriptions
- NPO Training - This class covers what you will need to do to prepare to work with your developer team. Topics covered include content development, defining website goals, and communicating effectively with a technical team.
Kickoff Party
The Kickoff Party is where Developer Teams are matched up with NonProfit Organizations (NPOs) and start web site planning.

Rally Day
Rally Day is the all-day event where teams meet (and NPOs come for support) to build their competing web sites from scratch! Snacks, beverages and lunch will be provided.
