What is AIR-Austin?

The Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR-Austin) is an amazing event that brings designers, developers, non-profit groups and the Austin community together to network in a social, yet competitive setting. Its mission is to provide a great experience to learn about accessibility and make the Web a more accessible venue for information.

In 2007, more than 120 Web professionals teamed up to create 13 accessible Web sites for Austin-area non-profits – all in one day of friendly competition. Please take a few moments to review the excellent work that went into creating these and other sites from past AIR-Austin competitions.

Why should my non-profit organization participate?

AIR-Austin pairs your organization with a team of designers and developers that use Web standards and accessibility guidelines to build a custom Web site just for you. The event also generates a lot of attention through local media, which means more people become aware of your cause and visit your brand new and accessible Web site. Register as a non-profit.

Why should I sign up as a development team?

Whether you know nothing about accessibility or could write the book on it, you will have access to Web standards and accessibility training and amazing networking opportunities to share, learn, and have fun with other Web professionals in the Austin community. It also gives you the opportunity to help Austin non-profit organizations and the recognition you deserve for doing it! Register as a development team.
